THE FUTURE IS MORESILENT EVEN IF NOT IN SWEDEN
Strong sharpening of noise levels with new guidelines from World Health Organization
As recent as Oct 2018, the WHO came out with tougher guidelines pointing towards a strong sharpening of the accepted noise levels for roads, transport and leisure spaces, for the first time since 2009. Research shows over 100 million in Europe are exposed to noise levels that both disturbs our sleep and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and hearing loss, which is not only disruptive, but purely health-threatening.
Whereas the acceptance level for noise outside the home was 60-65dB, it will be sharpened to a maximum level of 53dB!! See next page for more details. Unfortunately Sweden chose to go the other way in 2017 by increasing the level from 55dB to 60dB!
